Fraudulent Document

What Fraudulent Document means ?

A fraudulent document is a falsified or altered document intended to deceive or defraud. In the context of immigration, it refers to a supporting document containing false information such as an identification card, birth certificate, bank statement, fake medical reports, etc. The data are intentionally falsified to mislead immigration authorities in order to illegally obtain benefits or immigration status.

In immigration matters, document falsification is commonly observed during the visa application, work permit application, residence status application, or other immigration-related benefits. Fraudulent documents are used in this case to conceal the true identity of the applicant, their criminal history, medical background, or their inadmissibility to legal immigration.

In the field of immigration, the use of fraudulent documents can have serious consequences. The relevant authorities are extremely strict in this regard as they have an obligation to protect the integrity of immigration systems and ensure that only eligible applicants obtain immigration statuses. In case of using fraudulent documents, the immigration service may therefore pronounce :

  • Rejection of the application : The visa, work permit, or residence status application may be immediately rejected if fraudulent documents are discovered.
  • Entry ban : The individual may be banned from entering the country for a specified or unspecified period.
  • Deportation : If fraud is discovered after the individual has entered the country, they may be deported and sent back to their country of origin.
  • Criminal prosecution : Using fraudulent documents is a criminal act in many countries. The individual may face prosecution, which can result in fines or prison sentences.
  • Loss of status : If the individual has already obtained resident status or a visa based on fraudulent documents, this status may be revoked.
  • Impact on future applications : The discovery of fraud can have a negative impact on any future immigration application, making it more difficult to obtain visas or other immigration statuses in the future.
